Benefiting the Flying Colors Kids.in.Sports Initiative, who supports educating parents & students about the benefits of participating in after-school sports as it has the power to improve performance on academic tests, combat racism and foster lifelong friendships. 

Touring all NFL cities. Flying Colors Sports is proud to present the GREAT AMAZING RACE for YOUTH to build healthier and more active families!  This activity is a great opportunity for kids (K-12gr) to pair up with a parent, grandparent, sibling or mentor and participate in a fun outdoor adventure race together!  

It's way more fun than a 5K! From start to finish, the race is the most invigorating activity for families to do together, ever. Whether you run, jog, walk or watch, it'll be an experience you will never forget! The top 25 teams, from each city, qualify for the National Championship Race and a chance to win $2,000!

   Note. In an effort to allow parents flexibility on race day, teams are NOT preassigned to a WAVE.  You will be placed into the Wave that you show up for. (Check in 45 min. prior to either Wave)
                                                                                               

WHERE: Hodge Park, 7500 NE Barry Rd, Kansas City MO 64156  (Map / Directions) 

WHAT: Patterned after the popular television show "THE AMAZING RACE", teams of two race against other teams around a one (1) mile cross country course that includes up to eight (8) fun-filled challenges. The clue cards instructs the contestants to complete a task (game, relay, obstacle course, etc.) before proceeding to the next challenge. The team that completes the challenges and arrives at the finish line with the fastest overall time is declared the winner. Contestants should be prepared to get a little dirty and wet - it's part of the fun! This is a rain or shine event.  

    > Recreation & Competitive Levels: Teams can choose a recreation level (those who prefer to walk or jog at a leisure pace) or a competitive level (those who prefer to run and complete more difficult tasks). 

    > Fast Forward Tokens: Fast Forward tokens (aka. Time Savers) can be purchased at any time prior to start of the race. Teams will receive a 1 minute deduction for every additional $5.00 submitted (up to 4 minutes).

    > Spectators: Spectators are welcome to tag along for free and take photos for the scrapbook.

WHO: The race is for teams of two (2): adult/kid, kid/kid or adult/adult.  (Kids = Kindergarten thru 12th grade. ) Pre-K is allowed if paired with an adult. Max of 150 teams. 

> RACE TEAM ENTRY FEE: $40.00 Early / $50.00 at Race                                                                                                                 > FAST FORWARD TOKENS: 1 minute deduction for every $5.00 submitted ( up to 4 min)   
> SOUVENIR T-SHIRT: $15.00 Early / $20.00 at Race 

Group Discounts: Register 5 or more teams and receive a $10.00 discount per team.

AWARDS: Every participant who crosses the finish line gets an official time card to recognize their accomplishment. Special awards are given to the winners of each grade division (determined by grade of youngest team member):Grades K-6 Division and Grades 7th & older.  The awards will be presented at the main stage. 

BENEFITING: Benefiting 30-MINUTES-A-DAY family initiative, a national campaign aimed at encouraging families to devote 30 minutes each day, at home, to 3 core activities (physical exercise, reading a book and healthy eating) that have the power to improve student's academic performance and family quality of life.
